Under the mentorship of Ms. Vuyolwethu Nyati, Avuye Magadaza, with her practice venture “Amaze Recruitment,” became the first Mandela University student entrepreneur to complete the Wadhwani Foundation’s foundational Entrepreneurship course offered by the Department of Business Management in collaboration with the Mandela Youth Entrepreneurship Lab (MYEL).

Running from April to September this year, the course was facilitated by Professor Shelley Farrington, with assistance from Mr. Siyabonga Sirayi. Several students voluntarily enrolled, with each being assigned a mentor for the duration of the course. The course aimed to foster an entrepreneurial mindset and equip students with the skills to develop practice ventures that could evolve into real businesses. The course is expected to be offered to a select group of student entrepreneurs annually.
