Dr Kupangwa’s article, which was published in the Journal of Family Business Management (Emerald Publishers) has been featured as the second most downloaded article over the last 12 months, with 2192 downloads as of December 2024. 

 

The article titled “The African Philosophy of Ubuntu and Family Businesses: A Perspective Article”, underscores the importance of conducting studies that examine the African philosophy of Ubuntu among indigenous African family businesses. The perspective article summarises the understanding of the role of Ubuntu in indigenous African family businesses and explores potential pathways for further investigations to understand existing cultural and economic differences that could contribute to family business heterogeneity. With a CiteScore of 5.5 and an impact factor of 3.6 (2023 rankings), the Journal of Family Business Management is one of the three major journals worldwide focusing on and publishing various family business issues. According to Scopus, the journal falls within the Q1 percentile in the Economics, Econometrics, and Finance (Miscellaneous) category.
