The purpose of the trip was to escape the office for a change of scenery and get a fresh perspective for some important strategic planning activities. It also served as a teambuilding opportunity, given that during the Covid-19 work-from-home period there wasn’t much in-person interaction between the colleagues.
It’s safe to say that everyone had a great time and showed that academics don't always have to be boring!
